Thanks to everybody who came. We had a record number of entries (about 150), and a record donation to Toys for Tots (about $900 and three boxes of toys). The weather was good and everybody had a good time. Thanks to Donna Younger for a great job organizing it, and all the volunteers for their help!

My husband and I tried to make it out. A car stopped in front of us causing my husband to hit the breaks and the break line busted. Fortunately he was able to go off the road and not hit the car. We had to go back home to do some repairs. Sorry we missed it this year and good luck and have fun!

This was a really nice run! What a great group of people. I had a blast and a pair of 6’s.
Glad you enjoyed it. Hope to see you back next year.
Thank you everyone who came out and ran or walked our 3rd annual Poker Run 5K race to benefit Toys for Tots. You made this year’s our most successful one with 150 entrants and donations of $942 and 3 1/2 large boxes of toys. There will be a lot of happy kids on Christmas Day thanks to your generosity.
Also thanks to all the wonderful volunteers who gave their time and effort to help make everything go smoothly. This year the drawing for the volunteer prizes were won by April West and Carl Cox. I wish I could’ve given a prize to all my wonderful helpers. There’s no way I could’ve done it without you.
A special thanks to Dave Maxwell from Southside Pic Pac who always brings our water and ice and also donated popsicles this year and to Craig from the Taylor Blvd. Sav-A-Lot who donated snacks and also ran in our race for the first time this year. Also ValuMart at Iroquois Manor, Pic Pac on Gagel and Sav-A-Lot on Preston who also provided refreshments.
Here is a list of all the donors of prizes: H&S Hardware, Total Serenity, Restore Therapuetic, Tumbleweed, Bob Evans, Home Depot, Sunergos, Starbucks, Sister Bean, Rooster’s, Beef O’ Brady’s, J.D. Becker, En Vogue, Jim Pipes for the UK/UL plates, and Executive Bowl. Thanks to IHR for the donation of $100 for our 1st prize, Leonard Heuser and his business ACCO for a $50 donation for our 2nd prize, Swag’s for our prizes for 1st male and female, and Universal for the donations of the towels.
Please patronize our sponsors and let their managers know how much you appreciate their generosity in making this race a success.
I also want to thank my wonderful husband who had to put up with me while I got all this organized. He was a great help from beginning to end. I don’t know what I’d done without his help.
I hope everyone had a good time and we see all of you back again next year.
Sincerely,
Donna Younger
