Canned Goods Run / Donation Drive for South Louisville Community Ministries (SLCM)
On Saturday, December 21 from 8-10 AM, IHR is participating in the city wide canned goods run! We are excited to be joining several running clubs around Louisville collecting donations. We will be at Iroquois Park near the amphitheater collecting donations to benefit South Louisville Community Ministries.
Holiday themed attire and accessories are encouraged as well, to spread a little cheer. Please note: results will not be posted and there will be no overall or age group awards.
SLCM provides emergency assistance and compassionate advocacy to low-income neighbors in crisis. They address immediate needs of hunger and stable housing while creating lasting community. SLCM serves our neighbors (40118, 40208, 40209, 40214, and 40215) in their greatest time of need to prevent their crisis from turning into catastrophe. Organizations like this need our help now, perhaps more than ever. Please give if you can.
All food items and money donated during this year’s Canned Goods Run will go to South Louisville Community Ministries. SLCM provides emergency assistance to, and advocates for, low-income individuals and families living in south Louisville.
Below is the current list of priority needs for SLCM. Feel free to bring other items, but this their focus at the moment:
- Female hygiene products
- Formula (prefer to have a range)
- Canned Fruit
- Spices and Condiments
- Plastic Bags
